Frequently Asked Questions

  • Holistic results with an efficient plan that fits real life - provided by coaches who truly care about your success.

  • For busy professionals who need a complete, flexible program to THRIVE - while handling work, family, and life. This is for someone who is either currently training or has gym experience, but lacks a plan that maximizes the results in the time they have to train.

You're stuck in a "start-and-stop" rut, or only know how to do the 5 day body-building split that worked fine in college that isn't getting results when you don't have that much time thanks to a stressful career and busy family schedule.

"I identify as an athlete, but I’m not feeling or looking that way right now."

"I’m confused by where to begin or what to do when I go to the gym."

"I want to get stronger, perform better, and feel confident in my body."

"I need an expert to tell me how to get the most out of my limited training time."

  • Less: Even if you can only train 2 days/wk, still do it! The days are all holistic full-body programs, which allows for flexibility with your busy schedule. You don't miss a whole body part if you miss Day 3.

More: Three full-body days is a very effective dose of training that still allows some recovery in between. We do love moving every day though! We encourage you to do more mobility and low-intensity activity/conditioning on your off days. The program will include mobility, power, strength, and high-intensity conditioning work.

  • These programs are for someone new to strength training. You need a simple, effective plan that teaches you the fundamentals that actually get results. Not only will you get stronger, but you will improve movement quality and capacity to take control of your life.

No more just "exercising to burn calories" or trying random things you see on social media and hoping for the best.

  • Team THRIVE programming is not meant for someone with the time and specific goals for elite performance (competitive athlete, bodybuilder, etc.). On the other side of the spectrum, the Foundations programs are not meant for someone with active injury that requires in-person professional supervision.

  • A lot!

For Team THRIVE: Daily feedback in the app, a monthly "office hour", podcast, and newsletter, and an invite to an annual workshop in Santa Barbara, CA.

For Foundations Program users: Daily feedback in the app for your first run-through of the program (you have lifetime access to the program), and a monthly podcast and newsletter.

  • Team THRIVE and Gym Foundations can be done from any standard commercial gym, or a home gym equipped with the following:

Required - Barbell, plates, dumbbells, adjustable bench, squat rack, and cable machine. (Bands could be subbed for cable exercises.)

Optional - Fan bike or other cardio equipment, trap Bar, kettlebells, bands, physioball, ab wheel, TRX/suspension trainer, foam roll, lacrosse ball.

Home Foundations can be done from a simpler home set-up with the following:

Required - Adjustable dumbbells (up to 30-50lbs.), bands (long, with handles, or a 41" loop band), sturdy object ~18" high (bench, couch, chair), sturdy object to hook band to (table leg).

  • Bands/BW can be hard at first, but isn't enough to challenge you over time. Especially for lower body work, you'll need external load to get to a meaningful level of strength. Our whole goal is making strength training accessible, but if you don't have DBs, get some or to a gym instead. Trust us - it’s a worthy investment that will pay you back in the form of decades of a more active life. We use PowerBlock dumbbells in our Santa Barbara facility.
